I spent 6 great weeks in a quarry a few miles outside Salzburg sculpting stone. The Stone Sculpture Symposium is part of the Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts. The Symposium was tutored by Susanne Tunn and Eileen MacDonagh and assisted by David Svododa. There were 12 students including myself from all over Europe. It was a very productive 6 weeks and I learnt a huge amount from the tutors and from the other students in a very creative environment.
See Salzburg Stone Sculpture Symposium page (when I get round to doing it) for more details and the work I produced. Also have a look at New Work.
The stone sculpture symposium which I attended was a 6 week course and part of the Salzburg Summer Acamedy of Fine Art. The Stone symposium was one of many other Art courses being held in Salzburg during the summer run by the Academy.
